The four trekkers who had gone missing near Kedarnath two days ago have been rescued by officials from Uttarakhand’s State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). According to Vineet Kumar, an SDRF official, the four trekkers were located on Thursday morning by the Triyuginarayan village chief. The trekking party had gone missing on Tuesday after going on a hike near Vasuki Tal. A rescue team was dispatched but their job was made difficult by bad weather conditions.

“We have just learned from the district control room that the Triyuginarayan village chief located four men in the hilly areas near the village. They were identified as the missing trekkers and are being brought down now,” said Vineet Kumar. Tripti Bhatt, Commandant of the SDRF had, on Wednesday (July 15), sent three teams for an extensive search operation. The trekkers were identified as Himanshu Gurung, Harsh Bhandari, Mohit Bhatt, and Jagdish Bisht.
