Former Cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin Meets With An Accident, Escapes Unhurt
Former Indian cricket team captain rescued safely after his car overturned in Rajasthan’s Sawai Madhopur district
Former Indian cricket team captain Mohammed Azharuddin, on Wednesday, had a close call when he met with an accident. Him, along with four others involved were safely rescued after his car overturned at the Fool Mohammad intersection on Lalsot-Kota state mega highway. The ex-captain was on his way to participate in a programme in Ranthambore near the Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan when the incident took place.

The incident happened as the car’s tyre burst causing it to overturn. According to the Police, the car was extensively damaged, but the people sitting inside were safe thanks to the airbag system. Following the mishap, another vehicle was immediately arranged and the former cricketer and those travelling with him was taken to their destination.
Officers at the Soorwal police station said that everyone inside the damaged car were safely rescued. However, a local man was injured in the accident and was rushed to the nearest hospital.
The 57-year-old ex-cricketer, who is at present the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s president, had contested the 2014 Lok Sabha election for Congress from Rajasthan’s Tonk-Sawai Madhopur constituency. He lost the election.
