Samar’s Amar Akbar Anthony reference!

Whenever Samar wants to show himself in a pitiful light in front of Manasi or her parents, he always uses the line, “My name is Anthony Gonsalves, Main Duniya Mein Akela Hu.” This definitely earns him some soft glances and sighs which he gladly receives. This line is his go-to whenever a character asks him why he went out of his way to do things for Manasi or her family. He wants to be seen as a dependable and loving man who is just lonely and helps others. This line helps him showcase exactly that.

Samar’s Darr reference

We all know Shah Rukh Khan’s character Rahul Mehra in Darr was quite creepy and gave us goosebumps with his stalker behaviour. On Pahile Na Me Tula, Samar embraces his creepy side as he projects Manasi’s pictures on the walls of his house and stares at them in awe. This takes place in front of Bhope and Samar does not care about how he looks at all! He is so enraptured by Manasi and wants to have her by hook or crook that he stares at her pictures without her knowledge in his house!

Samar is another Kabir Singh?

Samar may not have directly referenced it but he is so obsessive and in love with Manasi that he favours her at work and puts all his energies in to get her. So much so that he forgets to pay attention to his work at Lankari Finance as well. But the most Kabir Singh he does is when at a meeting, a client stares at Manasi for too long so Samar pushes him into the pool in anger. He is extremely possessive and gets livid at the client’s gaze. He tells the man that he has no right to stare at something that is his!

Tu Pyaar Hai Kisi Aur Ka

This hit Aamir Khan song from the film Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahi is such a classic. It speaks of a love triangle and the pain that is caused by it. This song plays in Samar’s car in the latest episode of Pahile Na Me Tula and Samar is seen singing along loudly. He makes it about Manasi and she shifts uncomfortably in her seat. He asks her if there is a situation like this in her life and she says that there is not one. But Samar says that there is because he loves her!

Manasi, Aniket and Samar’s Rang Barse

Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic song from the film Silsila which starts off on all the fun, ends up leaving two lovers miffed, and two closer. This is similar to what happens in the Holi episode of Pahile Na Me Tula as Samar seethes in anger as Manasi and Aniket dance together closely. They are so lost in their happiness that they forget about the world and have wide smiles on their faces as they dance to this classic song. This clearly leaves Samar feeling extremely bitter and he decides to intervene!
