Farmers Protest: Couple Dharmendra And Hema Malini Stand On Opposite Sides Of The Ongoing Debate
It’s a conflict of views in Dharmendra’s family regarding the ongoing farmer’s protest. See how Hema Malini and Dharmendra stand on opposite sides in this farmers’ debate.
Be it thriving cold or rains, thousands of farmers from Punjab and Haryana are protesting on the Delhi border points, against the three farm laws and legal guarantee of minimum support price (MSP) of their crops. Several celebrities came out in the support of farmers. Recently, actor and politician Dharmendra too extended support for the farmers, however, his wife has a completely different opinion on the farmers’ debate.
Hema Malini who is a BJP MP shared her piece of mind on the farmers’ protest. She said that the farmers are being manipulated and so they have been protesting against the laws. She added that the farmers protesting against the Centre’s farm laws do not even know what they want and that they are agitating on someone’s direction. Hema Malini also made a strong statement that the farmers have no knowledge about what these farm laws are about and what they actually want through this protest. She added that it shows that they are doing this because someone has asked them to do so.
However, Hema Malini’s husband Dharmendra has a completely contradicting opinion on farmer’s protest. He has extended support for the farmers time and again during the process. On the occasion of the new year, he took to his social media handle to extend support to his ‘farmer brothers’. He wrote, “I hope today my farmer brothers get justice. I pray with all my heart. Every noble soul will get relief”.
Earlier, the 85-year-old actor had spoken up in the wake of the farmers’ crisis. In December, Dharmendra approached the Centre to find a solution to the protests. “I am in extreme pain to see the suffering of my farmer brothers. The government should do something fast,” he had tweeted, along with a gloomy picture of himself.
While Hema Malini and Dharmendra are standing poles apart in their views on the ongoing farmers’ protest, their son and BJP MP Sunny Deol has found a middle path as he opined on the farmers’ debate. He said that this matter is between the farmers and the Government and no other person should interfere in this matter. They can resolve this on their own. He also talked about Deep Sidhu and wrote, “Deep Sidhu, who was with me during the election, has not been with me for a long time and whatever he is speaking, he is saying on his own. I am in no way related to his activities. I stand with my party and farmers and will always be with farmers. Our government always thinks of the betterment of farmers and I am sure that the government will ensure the right outcome after holding talks with farmers”.
