Farmers’ Leader Rakesh Tikait Talks About Greta Thunberg, Toolkit And Other Protest Plans

The farmers’ protest took a major turn when pop star Rihanna tweeted about the same and later Greta Thunberg posted a toolkit that created a major stir online regarding the farmers’ protest. Recently, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait talked about the international involvement in farmers’ protest and also how they further planned to execute the ‘Delhi Chalo’ farmers’ protest.
The farmers’ protest happening at the border points of New Delhi has entered the 82nd day today. Talking about the further movement of the protest, Rakesh Tikait said that the protest of farmers is focused more on the harvest season in India. By the end of March, the harvesting would begin in parts of Madhya Pradesh and so farmers would gather from those areas in the protest. He added that all the farmers have to work according to the climatic conditions and so the shift in the protest would be witnessed.

Talking about Greta Thunberg and the leak of the toolkit, Tikait said that it is an internal matter and everything regarding the protest would be decided by the farmers. He also added that this matter is between farmers and the Government, no external involvement would be entertained.
Further, Tikait mentioned that nothing related to this protest is done for elections. He also gave the word that he won’t be participating in elections this time. Rakesh’s motives have been questioned as people believe that he is trying to involve Jaat politics in farmers’ protest. However, he denied such allegations and also said that the Government is responsible for all these things happening in the protest.
