Farm Bills Protest: Delhi Police Detain 5 For Burning Tractor
Close to 15-20 unidentified people belonging to the Punjab Youth Congress gathered at the India Gate and set a tractor on fire in protest.
A group of 15-20 men reached Rajpath near the India Gate in Delhi and set a tractor on fire during the protest against the the farm legislations The vehicle was set ablaze and according to the latest development in the case, Delhi Police has now detained five accused for the same. The incident happened at around 7.30 am on Monday (September 28) when the group of unknown men carrying posters of Bhagat Singh reached the India Gate shouting slogans against the government. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot for dousing the fire.
“Around 15-20 persons gathered here (India Gate) and tried to set a tractor on fire. The fire has been doused off and a tractor was also removed. Those involved are being identified. Probe underway,” DCP New Delhi was quoted by a news agency as saying. A Toyota Innova car used in the act was also seized by the Delhi Police. Sources said that the tractor was set ablaze by a group of Punjab Youth Congress workers on Monday morning at the Rajpath during a protest against the farm laws, agitations against which are being held across the country.
