Apna Sapna Money Money actress Riya Sen recently featured in ZEE5 original Poison. Riya essays the role of Natasha Bansal, a petite beauty torn between her feelings for a cop and a drug mafia she works for. The 38-year-old has her plate full of Bengali and Hindi projects, mostly in the web space. Steadily leaving her digital imprints behind, Riya is also busy rallying with her mother, actress and Trinamool Congress MP Moon Moon Sen ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2019.

In an exclusive conversation with us, Style movie star Riya revealed that her political views are very similar to her mother’s. “My political views are very similar to my mother’s and I have been rallying for her this year just as I did 5 years ago in Bankura,” said Riya. For those unaware, Moon Moon Sen joined Trinamool Congress in 2014 and had won from the Bankura constituency in West Bengal. It is mention worthy that the veteran actor swept to victory by beating CPI(M)’s nine-time MP, Basudeb Acharia.

This year, Moon Moon will contest from Asansol city. She is up against Babul Supriyo of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who was voted by the constituency in 2014. Sen, daughter of Bengali cinema icon Suchitra Sen, has been campaigning hard with her gorgeous daughters Riya and Raima Sen in tow. Asansol will vote for its Member of Parliament on April 29, 2019. Counting of votes of all constituencies will be done on May 23 and the results will be declared on the same day.

Coming back to Poison, we also quizzed reason as to what made her choose the series. “ZEE5. I’ve been wanting to work with them for quite some time. It’s good to see that Poison has become such a success!” the starlet asserts.
