If reports are to be believed Enrique Iglesias’ ‘Final’ might be his last album
The King of Latin Pop, Enrique Iglesias took the music world by surprise as he announced his upcoming album ‘Final’. Taking to Instagram, the singer along with a picture monochromatic picture from the album cover shared, “FINAL Sep 17th.”
As per the reports doing the round on social media, this album may be his last one. With the Spanish singer having a fan base across the globe, the announcement has left his fans teary-eyed. Iglesias shared this news on Friday in a Q & A with fellow singers Ricky Martin and Sebastian Yatra while promoting their tour.
“It is not something that I have been thinking about for the past few months. It is something that I have been about for the past few years,” he said in the video shared on his Instagram. “There is going to be Volume I and Volume II, but they are final. I don’t know. I’m in that moment in my life, that chapter in my life, where I think it is the right time to put it out and I’ve been thinking about this since 2005,” Iglesias said.
The road long travelled
The singer who debuted with his album ‘Enrique Iglesias’ in 1995 said he is not going to stop making music. “I’m never gonna stop writing songs because I love to write songs. Me encanta escribir canciones, pero I’m gonna do it in a different way,” he stated. “Meaning, they don’t necessarily have to be packaged as an album. So this project to me is important”, he added.
Enrique Iglesias also announced that ‘Final Album’ will be out on Sept. 17. “It’s been a long time coming… my FINAL ALBUM will be out September 17th!!! Thank you @ricky_martin and @sebastianyatra for a great chat and especially thank you to all my fans!!! Gracias a todos mis fans!!! You guys are the best! See you very soon. We promise you an UNFORGETTABLE TOUR. #FINALALBUM”, the singer wrote on his Instagram.
The Instagram post with Ricky Martin and Sebastian Yatra has crossed 1,064,880 views by Monday and counting. The announcement of his ‘final’ album left the fans heartbroken. “Can’t wait for album but I hope it’s not the Final!” a fan responded. In his career spanning more than 25 years, Enrique Iglesias holds the record for the most number-one songs on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs. He was awarded ‘Top Latin Artist of All Time’ in October last year.
