Encounter In J&K’s Pulwama: One Soldier Killed, Hizbul Commander Shot Dead

A terrorist encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama in the early hours of Wednesday has led to the death of an Indian soldier, while another was injured in the attack. It has also been confirmed that security forces have shot down Hizbul Mujahideen Commander, Azaad Lalhari in the encounter. A source said, “Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Azaad Lalhari of Pulwama killed in an encounter at Kamrazipora today in an operation launched by Police along with 53 Rashtriya Rifles.”
Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir had launched a search operation in an orchard in the Kamrazipora village of Pulwama based on information about the presence of terrorists there. However, the terrorists opened fire, which led to the encounter. Two soldiers were injured in the cross-firing and while both were rushed to the hospital immediately, one of them succumbed to the wounds during treatment. According to sources, a cache of arms has been confiscated from the site, which includes one AK rifle, a few grenades, pouches and other war-like stores.
