The power failure was caused due to tripping of MSETCL’s 400 KV transmission system at Kalwa.
After around two and a half of power cut, several areas in Mumbai have regained electricity. Since today morning, a major power outage brought Mumbai and regions of Thane, Raigad and Palghar districts to a standstill. According to the sources, after a power failure, CM Uddhav Thackeray had a chat with Ministry of Energy, New and Renewable Energy Maharashtra, Dr Nitin Raut. Raut assured that the city will get its power back within an hour. Many parts of the city have got electricity but many regions remain affected. Railway service has also resumed.
It was also reported that Borivali and Kandivali have lost power once again after getting it for a while. Apart from that, several other regions in Mumbai have complained of power tripping.
