The makers of Leonardo DiCaprio’s movie Don’t Look Up released the teaser for the movie on Wednesday. The teaser for the upcoming Adam Mckay film was shared on social media. The film, which is produced by Hyperobject Industries and Bluegrass Films, will have a limited theatrical release on December 10, before being released on December 24 this year. The performers take on the roles of astronomers attempting to warn the world about a comet approaching Earth.

According to the synopsis of the film, Jennifer Lawrence, portraying the role of Kate Dibiasky, an astronomy graduate student, and her professor Dr Randall Mindy, essayed by Leonardo DiCaprio, make an amazing discovery of a comet orbiting within the solar system. The issues are that it is on a collision trajectory with Earth the other being, No one appears to give a damn.

The science-fiction comedy seems to have a fantastic cast. In addition to Leonardo and Jennifer Lawrence, the other celebrities are Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Ariana Grande, Rob Morgan, Jonah Hill, Mark Rylance, Tyler Perry, and Timothee Chalamet.

Movie director Adam McKay for two seasons in the 1990s worked as a head writer for the NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live. McKay started directing in the 2010s and ventured into the dramatic ground with The Big Short, his first picture, sans Ferrell in the cast. He was nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay (with co-writer Charles Randolph) for the film.

It also received two British Academy Film Awards for Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay. McKay’s most recent film, Vice, on former Vice President Dick Cheney, received eight Oscar nominations, with Best Makeup and Hairstyling taking home the prize.

He and Lawrence each have another movie in the works: Legendary Entertainment’s Bad Blood, which he will direct and she will star in, with Vanessa Taylor penning the screenplay. Lawrence plays Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of the notorious blood testing business Theranos, in the Silicon Valley scandal project.
