There have been positive reviews about this show which is based on Happu and his family of nine kids and a pregnant wife. Upon asking the makers about how they feel about this new show, they said, “The character of inspector Happu Singh was introduced for a one-day episode wherein Angoori Bhabi gets kidnapped. After having a discussion with the team over how the inspector should be, the team came up with ideas like, if he is from Kanpur then he has to have a Kanpuri accent. The look was finalised by Shashank Bali (director of the show). After finalising the character, actor Yogesh Tripathi played it so well that it made us create a new show. Even the character of Saxena was meant for a one-day episode but it was the audience who showed their love for these characters and made them so famous.”

When asked about how the idea of making a dedicated show for Happu Singh clicked, they said “The audience was curious to know more about the family of Happu Singh, it was our biggest achievement that the audience was praising our characters. So we considered it as an opportunity. We shared the idea with our producer Sanjay Kohli and then he came into the picture and pitc ithed it to the Zee team.”
