Details Of CBI Special Investigation Team Who Are Gearing Up For Sushant’s Death Probe
The 5 member team, aided by other CBI officers will reach Mumbai and take a complete handover of the case
With the Supreme Court ruling the jurisdiction of the Sushant Singh Rajput case in the family’s favour, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is gearing up for the high-profile assignment.
The CBI will now conduct their duties without interference from any state police, based on the first investigation report (FIR) lodged by the deceased actor’s family in Bihar.
According to sources, the premier investigating agency will prepare a full case strategy in an important meeting today.
On reaching Mumbai, the case diary will first be handed over to them by the local police that will include the accused and witnesses’ statements and the forensic and post-mortem reports of Sushant. The unit will also visit the Kedarnath actor’s Bandra residence to recreate the crime scene and conduct a dummy test.
Statements of all those who were present at the film star’s home on the day of his death will be rerecorded. Prime accused Rhea Chakraborty and her family will be summoned for questioning by the visiting team.
Post this procedure, the CBI will decide if any arrests need to be made.
The Special Investigating Team (SIT) comprises three senior Indian Police Services (IPS) officers. The chief of this task is Joint Director Manoj Shashidhar, who will lead Deputy Inspector General Gagandeep Gambhir, Superintendent of Police (SP) Nupur Prasad, Additional SP Anil Yadav and Assistant Commissioner of Police Ravi.
