The COVID-19 cases in India are increasing every day. The rate of infections as well the death toll is substantially rising. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Delhi are the worst affected states in India. According to the reports, on June 23, India marked a worrying record in the battle against Coronavirus. The national capital recorded the highest number of daily new cases for any city in the world. Delhi reported around 3,947 new cases on Tuesday, which is its highest single-day spike so far.

Among the states, it was found that the capital reported more cases than any state in the country. It even surpassed Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. The figures are worrisome for the Delhi Government. The increase in COVID-19 cases is an outcome of lifting the lockdown and also easing travel norms in the capital. Lack of necessary safety measures is responsible for the spike in infection rate too.
