A fire broke out at a PVC sole manufacturing factory in DSIDC Industrial Area, Narela, Delhi. 10 to 15 fire tenders rushed to the spot and police teams are also present. No casualties have been reported yet, the fire department said. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. A senior officer said, “The fire took place at a PVC sole factory in the D block. The fire personnel are on the spot to douse the fire. It is still very early to say what caused it.” Last month, a similar fire broke out in the industrial area inside a shoe factory which took 26 fire tenders and six to seven hours to control the fire.

More details are awaited. However, the matter has fortunately not escalated to a fatality. A Delhi Fire Service (DFS) official said that they are trying to douse a fire at the PVC sole factory in outer Delhi’s Narela. DFS Director Atul Garg said a fire incident was reported at the factory around 11 am and 10 fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Fire-fighting operations are underway, he added. No injuries and casualties have been reported so far.
