Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Reveals Improvement In Coronavirus Situation Since Increase In Testing
A better positivity ratio has been found since the number of tests was increased, said the CM in the capital.
Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal has said that the coronavirus situation in the state has improved immensely following the government’s efforts to increase the number of tests being conducted every day. He said that if 100 tests were conducted in a day in the month of June, 35 of them used to come as positive. And right now, if 100 people are tested, only 11 are emerging as positive cases. This means a better positivity ratio is being found in the state.
The Chief Minister also observed that while more people are indeed contracting the disease, the number of people recovering from it are also increasing. The number of tests being conducted in the state every day falls somewhere around 20,000 to 24,000. He also said that while there are 15,000 beds reserved for COVID-19 patients in Delhi, only 5,100 of them are occupied at the moment. All efforts are being taken to increase ICU beds in Delhi, Kejriwal revealed through his press conference.
