Blockbuster filmmaker Rohit Shetty was all prepped up to release his film Sooryavanshi on March 24th, last year but, the pandemic infused lockdown crippled the entire plan of release. It’s been more than one and a half years, the Akshay Kumar starrer hasn’t got a release date yet. In the meantime, Rohit Shetty scripted and shot another film, called Cirkus. The film is said to be an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s play, The Comedy of Errors. The star-studded cast of the film includes Ranveer Singh, Varun Sharma, Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez.

Earlier this year, reports from a leading publication suggested that Deepika Padukone will have a cameo appearance in Cirkus and the actress will also appear in a song. The actress will be reprising the role of Meenamma once again on screen and raise the excitement of her fans. Meenamma’s character was also designed by Rohit Shetty and it is one of the career-defining roles of the actress. Meenamma was a comical role and highly loved by audiences and fans would love to see it again on screen and watching Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh work together would be like a rollercoaster of emotions for them.

Rohit Shetty is one of the best filmmakers of B-town and the director knows how to pull audiences to the cinema and hence can pull off some interesting like, getting Inspector Singham in Simmba (2018) or getting Singham and Simmba both in Sooryavanshi or getting Meenamma in Cirkus, he can do it all with ease and allure audiences.

On the professional front, Bollywood’s hottest couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone will be seen in the film 83, wherein the former plays the role of Kapil Dev and the latter his wife. Deepika Padukone will also co-produce an upcoming sports drama that is expected to release in 2021. However, Cirkus will be releasing in the year 2022.
