In a shocking incident, a groom in Patna died after two days of his wedding, due to complications related to COVID-19. Following his death, a large-scale testing operation was launched, under which a whopping 79 attendees of the wedding were found to be positive for the coronavirus. Apparently over 350 guests had attended the wedding.
The groom, who was an engineer based in Gurgaon, was reportedly unwell and his condition deteriorated during the wedding. Before the occasion, he was apparently treated at the Patna hospital for diarrhoea, which happens to be one of the symptoms of COVID-19.
The incident came to light when an anonymous call was made to Patna’s District Magistrate, Sri Kumar Ravi. Some of the guests who had attended the wedding started developing symptoms, and thus, a camp for their testing was set up.
