Adding a new meaning to dance reality shows, Zee Marathi’s Dancing Queen- ‘Size Large Full Charge’ entertained us throughout its first season which was loaded with great dancing performances. All the inspiring contestants of the show proved that there are no limitations when it comes to ‘loving your art’. Ultimately, the show changed the perspective of society through its unique concept of motivating the talent of slightly overweight dancers.
And adding to the show’s spirit were the judges, Sonalee Kulkarni, RJ Malishka, and veteran actress Nirmiti Sawant (a special judge) who had a near-impossible decision to make on Sunday night, as they crowned Pranali Chavan as the winner of Dancing Queen Season 1. And she earned the title from tip to toe with unfailing pluck and consummate skill. Sneha Deshmukh and Apurva Kundalkar earned second and third place respectively.
Sangeeta Tammatta, Pranali Chavan, Apurva Kundalkar, Sneha Deshmukh, Deepti Nair, and Deepali Abu Nimbale were the insanely talented final six contestants, who paved their way to the grand finale by impressing the judges with their impeccable performances. They graced the stage of Dancing Queen one last time on Sunday and made us fall in love with them once again. From being swag-tastic to sensuous, all the performances from the finale night raised the bars for every dance reality show on TV.
And here’s summarizing these best performances from the grand night:
Tackling all the difficulties throughout her journey in the show, Apurva Kundalkar graced the stage first on the finale night. Spinning her lehenga in rhythm with the music, Apurva presented a perfect blend of Kathak and Rajasthani folk dance with her trademark precision. Judges and viewers were treated as she redefined herself with an astonishing performance.
The youngest contestant of all, Sangeeta Tamatta’s ‘Sairat’ themed piece was showered with appreciation from the judges. Her aerial dance form accompanied by a glittery costume made up for a sweet finale performance.
Deepali’s intricate lifts and impressive floorwork grabbed everyone’s attention. Her traditional-yet-stylish attire finely tuned with her dashing performance left everyone impressed. And she proved her true spirit with an on-stage appeal and overcoming her ups and downs throughout the journey.
Opening with a bang, Sneha’s lively performance presented us with three different-yet-interesting versions of traditional ‘Lavani’ dance. Her energy filled performance made up for a great finale act.
Adding a new variation to the aesthetic side of her performance, Pranali Chavan’s final act paid-off very well. She appeared to be matching her energy perfectly with the tunes and was applauded by the judges for bringing a unique style to her performance.
Being the last one to grace the stage on the big night, Deepti’s dynamic performance stole the show. Her simple and expressive act made her performance the most adorable and entertaining one. Judges called her performance ‘full of expressions’ as she made them recall Govinda’s dance with her impressive act.
These stellar performances added to the big night of the finale and wrapped up the norm-breaking first season of Dancing Queen with memorable and heartwarming moments.
