CSK’s Four Players Score Centuries Before The Upcoming Season Of IPL 2021

Four players of Chennai Super Kings show phenomenal form in the local matches and score centuries for their respective state teams.

Ahead of IPL 2021, four players of Chennai Super Kings have scored centuries in different local matches in the last few days. Suresh Raina, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Robin Uthappa and N Jagadeesan have shown that they are in form to smash runs for the upcoming IPL season. After a sad performance in IPL 2020, the MS Dhoni lead team seems to be gearing up for a powerful season this year.

Suresh Raina has scored 104 runs off 39 balls in match against Titans Zx in Gurugram, Haryana. Raina was playing for the team of Nijhawan Warriors and displayed phenomenal performance with 11 fours and 7 sixes. He reached his half century in mere 19 balls. In the last season of Indian Premier League (IPL), the experienced player was absent due to personal reasons but CSK has chosen to retain him for the upcoming season of the league.

Another player of Dhoni’s squad, Ruturaj Gaikwad has scored a century in a match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021. He was selected as the captain of the Maharashtra team for the trophy and scored 102 runs with 9 fours and 3 sixes. The team scored 295 runs in total with a loss of 8 wickets. In the last season of IPL, Ruturaj played very well and scored 3 half centuries in consecutive matches for Chennai Super Kings. He is also considered a great fielder and has caught 19 wickets in IPL 2020.

Previously, Robin Uthappa and Narayan Jagadeesan had also scored centuries for their local teams. Uthappa smashed a massive century for Kerala with 107 runs, which comprised of 10 fours and 4 sixes. The match was played against Orissa who lost due to 33 runs. Uthappa has expressed his desire in Twitter to play and win a tournament with the CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, before he retires this season. He previously played for Rajasthan Royals.

Narayan Jagadeesan also helped Tamil Nadu win the match with 6 wickets against Punjab, as he scored 101 runs for the team. He smashed 14 fours and 2 sixes during his century. He debuted in the IPL 2020 with CSK against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
