COVID-19: Schools For Class 9 To 12 Students Reopen in Unlock 4.0
The Central Government has asked the state authorities to decide on re-opening of schools considering the COVID-19 situation.
After around six months of lockdown, the unlocking phase in India has finally begun and life is slowly getting back to normal. According to the latest news reports, from today, September 21 the government has approved opening of schools for students of 9th to 12th classes in the country. Schools will reopen with all the necessary safety measures and restrictions. Sources also stated that schools in Delhi will remain close till October 5 whereas, in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, West Bengal and Uttarakhand schools will not function until further notice.
So far 9 states have decided to reopen the schools – Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Andra Pradesh, Karnataka and Nagaland. The Central government has asked the state authorities to take the call whether to reopen the schools or not considering the severity of COVID-19 situation.
