The Coronavirus pandemic has affected many sectors of the economy. A huge number of businesses have shut down or have run into unbearable losses. According to the latest news reports, the impact of COVID-19 virus on travel industry may cost as many as 46 million jobs globally. Considering the current scenario of the aviation industry and the slow recovery of the economy will threaten 4.8 million aviation workers. To avoid more losses, American Airlines has started furloughs.

Sources also claim that close to 40 million jobs will be lost in related industries like supply chain and transportation. Many airline companies have asked their employees to return their badges or take voluntary retirement. Experts are of an opinion that the airline industry will experience more job cuts as it may require a huge amount of time to bounce back to normal.
