A research published in a journal titled Physics of fluids has claimed that the spread of novel coronavirus can likely be controlled even if 70% of the public wore masks in public places. The research has also confirmed that a mask plays a major role in controlling the spread of the virus.

Extensive studies have been carried out by researchers on whether wearing a mask really controls the spread of the virus or not. These studies have revealed that even if you cover your mouth with a regular cloth, the spread of the virus can be controlled to an extent.

Reports have also revealed that if the surgical masks which are 70% effective were worn by 70% of the population in public places, the spread of the virus could have decreased. The research team also included Dr. Sanjay Kumar from the National University of Singapore who said that even if we do not wear a surgical mask and instead cover our mouths with a regular cloth, the spread of the virus can be controlled.

The impact of coronavirus is rapidly increasing in many nations around the world. Reportedly, the condition of several countries in Europe is getting worse even after being hit by the second wave of coronavirus. Even though positive news regarding the vaccines has been coming in, it is advisable to take precautions as much as possible. Masks should be worn at all times in public places and social distancing should be maintained strictly.
