COVID-19 News: Dr Harsh Vardhan Presents Roadmap For Vaccine Distribution
The government of India has planned to provide COVID vaccines to around 25 crores people of the country’s 130 crores by July 2021.
Recently, Union health minister Harsh Vardhan has presented a roadmap of the much-awaited Coronavirus vaccine. While addressing general public questions, Dr Harsh Vardhan gave a detailed plan on the distribution and priorities. He said that had the government of India has meticulously planned to provide COVID vaccines to around 25 crores people of the country’s 130 crores by July 2021. Further, he added that the government would receive between 400 and 500 million doses of vaccine and it would ensure “equitable access”. The Union Health Minister also said that research to develop a Covid-19 vaccine is in full swing and that it is most likely to be ready by early 2021.
According to the sources, the distribution of vaccine will take place on a priority basis. The health ministry has asked the state government to submit the list of high-risk healthcare workers before October end.
