Covid-19: Maharashtra Reports 28,699 Cases In The Last 24 Hours
Covid-19 cases seem to be on the rise in many states of India and the state governments are taking necessary steps to prevent the spread of the virus.
Maharashtra has reported 28,699 cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours and the situation seems to get worse with each passing day. The death toll in the state has been reported as 132 in the last 24 hours. The financial capital of India, Mumbai, has reported 3,512 new cases and 8 people have lost their lives due to the virus.

Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray’s wife Rashmi Thackeray has tested positive for Covid 19 on Tuesday. She has been put under home quarantine in the official residence of the Chief Minister. This news comes after her son and environment minister Aaditya Thackeray also tested positive a few days ago. Cabinet Minister of Maharashtra, Dhananjay Munde, has tested positive for the virus for the second time. He had earlier tested positive in the month of June of 2020. The minister shared the news through the social media platform, Twitter.
India’s capital New Delhi has reported a maximum case of Covid-19 after 19 December in the last 24 hours. The new cases have been reported to be 1101. Keeping in mind the rapid increase in the number of cases, the government of New Delhi has decided to restrict the celebration of festivals like Holi and Shabe Barat. There will be random testings in Delhi airport, railway station, and inter-state Bus Terminal in Delhi.
Other states have also reported an increase in their Covid-19 cases. In the last 24 hours, Gujarat has reported 1730 new cases and 4 deaths, Uttar Pradesh has reported 638 new cases and 4 deaths. The fourth phase of the Covid-19 vaccine drive will start in April when citizens above the age of 45 will be allowed to take the vaccine.
