COVID-19: India Nears 5 Lakh Mark As Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu See Highest Cases In 24 Hours
The nationwide tally of Coronavirus cases is above 4.8 lakh and is expected to cross 5 lakh mark in the next two days with deaths rising to over 15,000.
On Thursday (June 25), 4,841 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Maharashtra. One hundred and ninety-two people lost their lives due to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours. On the plus side, 3,661 people have recovered from Coronavirus infection in the western state. The total number of active cases in the state is now 63,342. The total death toll has mounted to 6,931. Tamil Nadu has reported the highest single-day spike of 3,509 COVID-19 cases and 45 deaths on June 25. In Delhi, 3,390 Coronavirus positive cases, 64 deaths and 3,328 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases in Delhi stands at 73,780, including 44,765 cured/discharged cases and 2,429 deaths.

In Uttar Pradesh, 654 new COVID-19 positive cases, 533 patients cured/discharged and 15 deaths are reported in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has invited applications for validation of rapid antigen detection tests for COVID-19 from all manufacturers who have developed such kits.
