The plotline is fresh, making it a true feel-good movie with lower predictability factor. A light-hearted rom-com is definitely the kind of content that would work well in the present scenario as people have been looking for an escape from reality. Comedy Couple creates the right amalgamation between reality and fiction, presenting the audience with a fun ride.

The plot of the new OTT release, Comedy Couple, revolves around an unmarried couple in Gurgaon, who have been struggling to find a place to live together. They perform various events together and build a name for themselves solely on the basis of the talent they possess. The lady, Zoya Batra, is a modern girl with strong dedication and high spirit. She has been raised by a single mother (played by Pooja Bedi), who relies on art for a living.

She is in a live-in relationship with Deep Sharma, who quit his conventional job to try a hand in stand-up comedy. He belongs to a traditional family who does not follow the same ideologies and values that have developed in Deep. This leads to a plethora of lies which trace their way back to him.

Strong performances carry the film Comedy Couple forward. Shweta Basu Prasad as Zoya Batra is an absolute winner in every segment of the film. The character comes naturally to her, proving her versatility and passion for the craft. Saqib Saleem as Deep Sharma does not disappoint even a bit. The man has heavy potential and his efforts give various shades to the story. The supporting cast shines brighter with every scene. Rajesh Tailang as Mukesh brings the movie alive with apt dialogue delivery and impressive comic timing.

The dialogues develop a natural effect. Writers do not try to modernize the speeches, keeping it authentic and raw. Characters are highly relatable, especially for modern youth who have been struggling between righteousness and noise. The film shed some necessary light on the taboo around live-in relationships and director Nachiket Samant does a splendid job in terms of storytelling. The only drawback of Comedy Couple is that it tends to focus on too many things at once. The focus seems to shift every few minutes, making it a thali which is a mix of multiple cuisines.
