CM Rupani Assures That Gujarat Will Only Face 4-5 Days Of Lockdown

The Chief Minister of Gujarat has announced that Gujarat will not be facing a lockdown. As the country faces a second wave and registers its highest number of daily cases this week, the Gujarat CM has announced that only a 4-5 day lockdown might be put in place. He added that this lockdown will not inconvenience anyone as essentials and important things will still be open.
Doctors won some sort of a victory over covid-19 last year when social distancing was maintained and lockdowns were enforced. Now, as the cases are rising rapidly, doctors are again suggesting lockdowns as it is one of the most effective ways of curbing the spread of the virus. Appropriate behaviour related to covid-19 like wearing masks and not touching surfaces and sanitizing regularly must be practised for an effective fight against the virus as well.

The vaccines in India have become available to citizens of ages 45+ since April 1. Doctors are requesting citizens to take the vaccines which are becoming more and more readily available in hospitals. The vaccines are extremely safe and will help weaken the strength of the virus and reduce the number of deaths due to covid-19. It will also reduce the number of patients who will require ventilators.

Chief Minister of Delhi, Aravind Kejriwal and Uddhav Thackery, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, India’s worst-hit state presently, have recently written letters addressed to Prime Minister Modi. They requested the PM to reduce the age bar of the covid-19 and open it up to more age groups so that more people can get vaccinated quickly. Maharashtra has gone into a full lockdown with only emergency services running as the daily count of cases yesterday was around 55,000 cases.
