In the trailer, we see Vinay Pathak is the dedicated Indian dad who dotes on his son and plans for a grand birthday because they didn’t celebrate the previous year too. Tillotama Shome is holding Chintu in her lap and singing a loving folk song but this picture of a small but happy family is disrupted by the sound of gunshots and bomb blast.
Chintu Ka Birthday is set in Iraq in the year 2004. While the US forces make their way through the country of Iraq, the Indian families there are doing their best to move back to India. Chintu’s family finds themselves in the middle of this tension struggling to prove their innocence.
Some of the scenes like the soldiers with guns going to open the door for Chintu’s guests or Chintu telling his father that he will not share his birthday cake with the soldiers are surprising and surreal to watch. What was your favourite moment from the trailer? Let us know in the comments below.
