Britney Spears deletes her Instagram account, sends fans in a frenzy

Popstar Britney Spears surprised her fans after she deleted her Instagram account. But she was quick to reassure her fans through her Twitter handle that she will be back soon. The singer has mentioned that she is taking a little break from social media to celebrate her engagement. Britney Spears announced her engagement with longtime boyfriend and personal trainer-turned-actor Sam Asghari on Sunday.

She posted a video on Instagram featuring a diamond ring etched with the word “lioness,” as “lioness” is Sam’s nickname for her. Britney Spears captioned the Instagram video as ‘I can’t believe this is real’. She was seen saying yes when Asghari asked if she loved the ring. Asghari also shared a snapshot of Spears flashing her ring finger to the camera of his own.

The duo had been dating since 2016 after meeting on the set of the ‘Slumber Party’ music video. Britney was in very much news of late over her fight to end the conservatorship. She was fighting the conservatorship placed on her since 2008. Spear’s father Jamie Parnell Spears was given the conservatorship over her career, personal life, and finances. Britney was running into rough patches of her life at that time with a crisis in personal life and Jamie filed for conservatorship over his daughter.

The court drama

In 2019, an online social movement #FreeBritney was initiated to grant the Princess of Pop autonomy from her conservatorship. After the prolonged legal tussle, Jamie recently filed a petition to remove the conservatorship over Britney’s life and finances. The fans and followers of the Pop Singer reacted in varied ways to her Tweet about taking the break from social media.

A fan suspected sabotage of someone deleting her account since she posted about the conservatorship. But most of the fans reacted wishing the newly engaged lot of love and warmth. ‘Take all time you need queen’ posted a fan stating that she is really happy for Britney and Sam. Another fan expressed her shock, ‘you had me scared gurl’. Pieces of advice also followed on her Tweet. ‘Take time before getting into a marriage’ one of the followers said and added, ‘pls take your time and make sure it’s right for you’.
