The official poster of the docudrama series Break Point, based on the lives and times of legend tennis pair Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi made it to a public platform. And with each passing day, the momentum is building on the duo as fans are going gaga over the poster.
The docudrama series Break Point revolves around the iconic tennis champions who earned India its first Wimbledon championship back in 1999. On July 4 this year, Leander Paes announced the 22nd year anniversary of winning the title which raised suspicion among Twitterati that the duo might play again. However, hardly a few might have exactly predicted a biography series on them.
Bringing ‘Break Point’ to the world is producer couple Nitesh Tiwari and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari who are co-directing a series for the first time together. The teaser that was shared by Leander and Mahesh shows a cinematographic shot of a tennis ball followed by thunderous applause and strong background audio revealing the name of the series.
The seven-part series will be out on the OTT platform and soon will shift focus from what the world already knows about #LeeHesh to the intricate details about their lives, both on and off the tennis court.
In a joint statement, Ashwiny and Nitesh mentioned that they are excited to show the untold story of Leander and Mahesh. “We will forever cherish our efforts to show Paes and Bhupathi on screens”, they had said.
When Leander Paes shared a group picture of him with Mahesh, Ashwiny, and Nitesh on Instagram, several comments flooded in appreciating the series teaser and their eagerness to watch it on their TV sets. Users from Germany and the US expressed their joy for the 1999 Wimbledon Champs getting featured and want to witness the series when it is released.
