Recently, US President Donald Trump said that he has been taking Hydroxychloroquine medication to ward off the virus, and now, Bolsonaro too is betting big on the medication. Brazil is emerging to be next COVID-19 hotspot. The country now has the third-highest COVID-19 cases in the world and the virus has claimed around 19,000 deaths. Experts claim that the actual number of cases is fifteen times more as Brazil is not undertaking necessary testings. Even in these tough times, the Brazilian PM Jair Bolsonaro thinks that Coronavirus is just the common flu.

The Brazilian President encouraged his citizens to intake the medication even after its abilities to prevent or cure COVID-19 have remained unproven. After this statement, experts around the globe have questioned the safety and effectiveness of using this drug. They even said that without proper testing, it may prove hazardous to use Hydroxychloroquine.
