Bollywood Choreographer Shiamak Davar’s Mother Puran Davar Passes Away At 99

Here’s sad news for all Shiamak Davar fans! Bollywood Choreographer Shiamak’s mother Puran Davar passed away at the age of 99, this morning. RIP Along with choreography, he also acted in tin the movie Little Ziziou.

Choreographer Shiamak Davar lost his mother Puran Davar today morning. She was 99-year-old when she breathed her last. Puran Davar was not keeping well for some time, and left for the heavenly adobe reported the leading news portal. After learning about the sad demise of choreographer Shiamak Davar’s mother, several celebrities took to their social media accounts to offer condolence to the late Puran Davar. Actors including Rashami Desai, Rajniesh Duggall, among others offered their condolences after her demise.

Talking about Shiamak Davar, he is one of the most popular choreographers in Bollywood. He is extensively known for the revolution he bought in the field of dance in India. Shiamak Davar is honored as the guru of contemporary dance in the country. He began his career in choreography for Bollywood with the film Dil To Pagal Hai. Shiamak also won the National Film Award for Best Choreography for Yash Chopra’s 1997 release. The film featured Madhuri Dixit alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Karisma Kapoor.

Art director Vanita Omung Kumar took to her Instagram account and shared a heartfelt note about the sad demise of Puran Davar. She along with a note dropped a picture, in which she along with late Puran Davar and director Omung Kumar can be seen. Her caption reads, “Words fail me … Puran Aunty you were a true Angel to me , you loved me an Omung so dearly and I loved you so much too , your warmth stays on with me , thank you for all the love and adulation you bestowed on us , I will truly truly miss you ,your infectious smile Aunty … Shiamak we love you @shiamakofficial @omungkumar”. Omung Kumar expressed his feeling in the comment section of Vanita’s post. He went on to write, “We will miss you aunty”.

 

 

Talking more about the choreographer he has also served as director of the choreography for the Commonwealth Games, Melbourne and Commonwealth Games, Delhi. He was awarded an honorary doctorate in recognition of his contributions to entertainment in India and throughout the world by Middlesex University. Apart from all this, he has also choreographed for multiple Hindi films including, Taal, Kisna, Bunty Aur Babli, Dhoom 2, I See You, Taare Zameen Par, Yuvvraaj, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, and Jagga Jasoos. Interestingly, Shahid Kapoor, late Sushant Singh Rajput, Varun Dhawan, Ishaan Khattar among other Bollywood actors were members of the Shiamak Davar Dance Company. Along with choreography, he also acted in tin the movie Little Ziziou.
