Abhishek Bachchan’s performance in the next film has gotten a lot of praise as the actor may be seen with big cheeks and a paunch as he also had to go through the hardship of gaining weight to look the part for Bob Biswas

Abhishek Bachchan has received a lot of appreciation for his performance in the forthcoming flick Bob Biswas. In the film’s trailer, the actor may be seen with big cheeks and a paunch. He has recently spoken up about gaining weight and being trapped with it when the film’s production was halted due to a lockdown.

Abhishek had to go through the hardship of gaining weight to look the part for Bob Biswas. Unlike many performers, Abhishek did not want to employ CGI or prosthetics to resemble the role and instead went to great lengths to gain weight to look and feel like Bob.

It was wonderful for Abhishek Bachchan to gain weight while dining on Bengali sweets, but it was difficult to maintain that weight during the lockdown. In an interview with a leading publication, Abhishek Bachchan also stated that shooting in Kolkata in cold weather when one can have Gud Sandesh and all the delightful sweet food that Kolkata has, but mentally he got trapped because they had to shut down the shoot halfway through due to the lockdown, and they were about 80% complete. They also have another 10-15 days of work ahead of them. He had to maintain that weight during the lockdown. That was difficult.

The actor considered wearing prosthetics at the request of director Diya Ghosh and her father Sujoy Ghosh but ultimately declined. During the shoot, Abhishek Bachchan revealed he gained between 100 and 105 kg. And when someone looks at Bob’s face, it goes from round to full of cheeks. When someone performs prosthetics on the cheeks, it seems to be a prosthetic.

As a result, the stomach moves distinctly. When they have that weight and are physically carrying that weight, their entire performance changes because their body language alters their weight, their movement, their stroll, their run, everything changes.

Bob Biswas is a film written by Sujoy Ghosh and directed by his daughter Diya Annapurna Ghosh. It is produced by Gauri Khan, Sujoy Ghosh, and Gaurav Verma. Bob Biswas will broadcast on ZEE5 on December 3, 2021.
