BJP Chief Issues Strict Warning To UP MLA To Back Off From Ballia Case
BJP Chief JP Nadda called on his UP counterpart to send a warning message to MLA Surendra Singh following the latter’s remarks in favour of the case accused
Bharatiya Janata Party President (BJP) JP Nadda called on Uttar Pradesh BJP President Swatantra Dev Singh, asking him to warn Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Surendra Singh to stay out of the Ballia firing incident probe. According to sources, Nadda expressed his discontentment over the comments made by Surendra Singh on the matter, while also asking the state Party chief to issue a show-cause notice to the minister.
The highly politicized incident occurred in Ballia when the accused Dheerendra Pratap Singh publicly shot dead a 46-year-old man in the presence of officials, due to a dispute over allocation of two fair price shops in Durjanpur in Ballia. Soon after, the BJP MLA made a statement that though he condemned the incident, the culprit was justified in his actions as he fired in self-defence.
Nadda has asked for the message to be conveyed to the Bairia constituency MLA ordering for no interference and no influence on the ongoing investigations from his side. According to sources, the party’s head even warned the minister that he would be penalised if he failed to follow the given orders.
