Kajal Aggarwal is a woman who took the industry by storm. She is beautiful inside-out and plays all her characters with a conviction that leaves us baffled. The actor has completed over 13 years since her first release. Even today, she stands strong and is hailed as one of the leading actors of Tollywood. Not only this, but her stardom is also native to all South Indian film industries. On her 35th birthday, here are 10 facts you wish would you knew earlier.

Kajal Aggarwal is a Punjabi girl born and brought up in Mumbai. Her father, Vinay Aggarwal, is a textile business and her mother, Suman Aggarwal is also a businesswoman dealing in confectioneries. It is no surprise that the mother-daughter resort to baking and cooking, during the lockdown.
Growing up in Bombay, Kajal completed her schooling at the popular St. Anne’s High School. She attended her intermediate and college studies at the reputed Jai Hind College and Kishanchand Chellaram College.
Kajal’s interest in modelling started at an early age, and she decided to take her interests seriously in college. During her final collegiate year, Kajal stepped into the world of modelling.
Despite having no connection in the film world, Kajal managed to score a bunch of advertisements before landing her first film. Eventually, she gained massive popularity and got signed as the brand ambassador for many leading brands.
Kajal made an acting debut with the Hindi film titled Kyun, hogaya na! in 2004. Post this, she took a break for three years. In 2007, she made her acting debut in Tollywood with Lakshmi Kalyanam, starring alongside Kalyan Ram.
Her first Telugu film opened to lukewarm responses. But her second Telugu film managed to establish her well, it was Chandamama which released in the same year. It was this film that gave her the much-needed appreciation.
Her next film, SS Rajamouli’s Magadheera alongside Ram Charan, changed the pace and set her on a higher pedestal. This film continues to be one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of all time. It also garnered her several awards.
Over the course of time, Kajal debuted in Tamil and Kannada and established herself as a leading lady. In 2011, she returned to Bollywood with Rohit Shetty’s Tamil remake of Singham starring Ajay Devgn. In 2016, Kajal also made her singing debut with the Kannada film, Chakravyuha.
Today, Kajal is an active supporter of animal rights and stands for animal causes. She is also associated with the international body, PETA. The drive and love for animals in Kajal comes from her days as a child, visiting circus shows.
Finally, Kajal happens to be the first actress from South Indian film industries to have herself immortalised as a wax statue in the Madam Tussauds. The figure is available for fans to visit at the Madam Tussauds Museum in Singapore.
