Bihar Minor Girl Raped On Pretext Of COVID-19 Treatment In Patna Hospital
The security guard of Patna Medical College and Hospital in Bihar was arrested after he was accused of raping a minor girl in the COVID-19 isolation ward.
A minor girl was allegedly raped by the security guard of the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH). She had been admitted to the COVID-19 isolation ward of the hospital. The incident is said to have taken place on July 8. The police learned about the alleged incident when the minor opened up to a member of the child helpline and narrated her ordeal. A medical examination was conducted after the allegation came to light and a report on the same is awaited. The accused has been arrested by the police.
The Bihar Women’s Commission took cognisance of the incident and the Station House Officer (SHO) of Mahila Thana police station was asked to gather information about the case. The minor was found alone and rescued from Barh railway station and handed over to child helpline authorities. Pirbahore SHO Rizwan Ahmed Khan said, “The accused Mahesh Kumar (40), a resident of Danapur, was arrested from PMCH. He is a retired Army man who was working with a private security guard agency and was posted at the PMCH.”
