Check out some similarities between Sunil Dutt’s Padosan and Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai’s recent musical track.

AndTV’s most popular show, Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai is filled with different nuances that never fail to entertain its audience. Angoori’s (Shubhangi Atre) innocence and Vibhuti’s (Aasif Sheikh) relentless tries to impress his ‘Bhabi Ji’ is the USP of the show. Recently, the show has taken a musical twist, with Vibhuti suddenly becoming a ‘Sangeet Samrat’. Read on to know why this reminds us of Sunil Dutt’s 1968 film, Padosan.

Meanwhile, check out what’s happening on Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai right here:

‘Padosan’ film starring Sunil Dutt, Saira Banu, Mehmood and Kishore Kumar in lead roles, is one of the classic films from the 1960s. The story of the film revolves around Bhola (Sunil Dutt), who falls in love with his padosan, Bindu (Saira Banu). It then follows all his efforts to woo Bindu, with the help of his friend Vidyapathi (Kishore Kunar) while facing tough competition from Master Pillai (Mehmood). This also includes Bhola trying to learn classical music.

Similar to the instances in the film, Vibhuti loves his neighbour aka padosan Angoori and tries everything possible to impress her. Thus when he learns about her love for classical music, Vibhuti decides to learn the same. Bhola turned to his friend Vidyapathi, while Vibhuti went to acquire training from Pandit Suresh Shastri.

While Bhola was a terrible singer and thus needed some “special help” from Vidyapathi, Vibhuti actually ended up honing the skill. And that’s probably the biggest difference between the two that Vidyapathi sang playback for Bhola to lip-sync on, while Vibhuti is actually singing. Within two months he became a “Sangeet Samrat” and started singing bandish after bandish.

Similar to Bindu from Padosan, even Angoori starts getting impressed by Vibhuti’s singing. In fact, the first time Vibhuti sang, Anguri left poor Tiwari (Rohitash Gaud) in the middle of a romantic session and ran towards him to listen to the bandish he was singing. Vibhuti even made it rain with his exceptional talent. And now he’s been requested by Angoori’s father to help him get some rainfall by singing. Now with Vibhuti’s actual singing skills, it’ll be fun to watch what new shades of music and romance will we get to see on Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai.
