The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic restricted the overall Cricket action which goes around every year. Yet, a fair amount of cricket was played prior to the worldwide lockdown, and also the action resumed soon after restrictions were lifted. While we are currently enjoying the ongoing cricket field rivalry be it between India – Australia or New Zealand – Pakistan, the ICC board is appreciating the best of cricket players with deserving accolades.

Wrapping up the year 2020, we decided to bring you a list of 5 batsmen whose dedication and concentration on their play made them our favourite stars on the field. So check out the list:

Steve Smith

Former Captain and the leading batsman of Australian cricket team Steve Smith is first on our list. Though this year there were not many tours, Smith has three centuries under his name. Though he seemed to be struggling in Test Cricket, his record in ODIs was top-notch, Recently, Smith was also awarded the title of ‘Best Test Player of the Decade’ by the ICC.

Marnus Labuschagne

Among the new entrants in the Australian side, Marnus Labuschagne earned himself a big name with his great batting performances. Labuschagne became the ‘talk of the tour’ in the ongoing series between India and Australia. Showing consistency in his batting skills, he has managed to be one of the best discoveries for Australia.

Ben Stokes

Scoring 767 runs within 13 games, the England all-rounder Ben Stokes revived his batting power once again. Stokes performed extremely well in the IPL 2020 season as well as for his home nation, his performance was on point which made him the big name in 2020.

Babar Azam

Babar Azam emerged as a knight for Pakistani Cricket. With his great captaincy skills, Azam managed a good record in Test Matches for his nation. And with his bat, he continued to play match-winning knocks in England.

KL Rahul

Indian wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul became the leading run-scorer for India this year. His craft of batting made him an on-field star and captaining in IPL also emerged a level of maturity within his performance.

Hopefully, we will see the best out of them in the coming year.
