The most celebrated cricket league of India, the Indian Premier League (IPL), is finally going to commence this year. Every year, the IPL season starts in summer. However, this year, it has been delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. There were rumours that the IPL won’t take place this year, but now the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)  has announced that it will take place with some changes and restrictions. IPL 2020 will commence in September and end in the month of November. Moreover, it will be held in the UAE. It is also claimed that the first match will happen on September 26.

However, the schedule is yet to be finalised as the International Cricket Council (ICC) has not declared the dates of the T-20 World Cup which is going to take place in Australia this year. Sources also state that if IPL 2020 gets scrapped, the BCCI will incur a loss of around Rs 4,000 crore.
