Ateet Trailer: Gear Up For A Spine-Chilling ZEE5 Original Suspense Thriller About PTSD

Ateet is an upcoming ZEE5 Original film, starring Rajeev Khandelwal along with Sanjay Suri, and Priyamani Raj. Rajeev Khandelwal plays the role of an army captain, Ateet Rana who goes missing in battle, and is presumed dead. Sanjay Suri returns for his second ZEE5 Original after the series Bhram with Kalki Koechlin.

This thriller film tells the story of Captain Ateet Rana who goes missing and is declared dead by the army, his colleague Vishwa Karma steps forward to marry Ateet’s wife, Janvi and to take care of his daughter, Sana. However, Ateet Rana returns 10 years later, and he wants to take back his family. However, Ateet is no longer the same man. In the trailer we see Rajeev Khandelwal go from a decorated army captain, to a bearded man in a mental institution. Janvi has to make the choice between being with her ex-husband or continuing with her new life.

Rajeev Khandelwal has also played the role of an injured Air Force pilot in the short film Heartbeat. This film sees him trying to convince his wife to let him die, instead of being in a coma for years together. Watch him in this emotional short film before you watch him in the psychological horror film Ateet releasing on March 21, 2020.

A major part of this film was shot in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu, which has a rich army background. The film is being directed by Tanuj Bhramar, who had two family members in the military and says “My maternal grand father fought in the 1971 Indo-Pak war while my great-grandfather fought for the British in the Second World War. Both were changed men after the war. With Ateet I utilised the opportunity to dissect and understand post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) through the lens of horror.”
