The entire country has been grieving the death of skillful actor Asif Basra, who had been a renowned face in Bollywood. Veteran actor Gajendra Chauhan is amongst the many people who have been very sad about the great loss to the industry. In the recent interaction, he stated that he feels the case is yet to be investigated thoroughly.
He said, “It is a very sad incident. Basically, Asif Basra was a fine actor. In 2016, when Asif Basra created his artist card for the first time, he did it through me. He did a good job in Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, Black Friday and in the Pataal Lok web series. He was a very fine artist.”
“According to I what I heard, he had not been in Mumbai since the last five years. He had been settled in a city named Kangra in Himachal Pradesh. According to the news I heard, he hanged himself at a guest house which is situated around the same area. When an artist leaves this world, he leaves behind a vacuum through his work.”
Gajendra Chauhan also spoke about the immense talent late actor Asif Basra possessed. He said, “I feel he had a lot of opportunities to seize. His absence will be felt in the industry. It is very sad that a lot of artists, in this COVID situation, have committed suicide due to the current situation and the factors leading to it. But, so far, I do not feel Asif Basra’s case is such. His suicide is a matter for investigation, and whatever happens, it is unfortunate. May his soul rest in peace.”
