As seven-time Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was participating in his swearing in ceremony on one hand yesterday, the capital city of Patna witnessed unrest on the streets over a missing person on the other hand.

Angry with the city’s police for its inaction in finding the youth, who has been missing for over five days, the protesters vandalised public property. Footage showed a bike set on fire by the relatives and friends of the untraceable individual. The demonstrators claimed that the police were silent despite two of the accused being handed over to them for investigation. The law enforcement personnel meanwhile fear that the victim may have been killed.

Sticks were used and anti-police slogans were raised by the people till late night. According to reports, initially the forces tried to contain the crowd by attempting to talk to them. However, the police eventually resorted to firing to bring the situation under control.
