Deepika Padukone starrer, The Intern is back on track with Amitabh Bachchan playing Rishi Kapoor’s role in the film.

Deepika Padukone starrer The Intern which was stopped due to the ongoing pandemic is finally back on track. As per reports, Amitabh Bachchan will be roped in to play the role that was earlier being played by Rishi Kapoor. The Intern is reported to be the official Indian remake of the 2015 Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro film of the same name.

In 2020, everyone rejoiced at the news of Rishi Kapoor being roped in for the Indian remake of the 2015 Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro film The Intern. The veteran actor was reportedly going to star alongside Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone. The work on this film was stopped when the ongoing pandemic hit the world. Later, the sudden demise of Rishi Kapoor that shocked the world also affected the film drastically.

Now, the film is supposedly getting back on track with the Big B of  Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan being roped in to essay the lead role. Having previously worked together on the critically acclaimed film, Piku, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone already share a great rapport. The duo will also be seen in the Nag Ashwin film alongside Prabhas.

Amitabh Bachchan will be seen essaying the role of the retired man who decides to intern in a digital company that will be headed by Deepika Padukone. According to sources, the dates of the shoot are yet to be finalised but the makers are planning to take it on floors soon.
