Rhea Chakraborty has been arrested. Not for the money laundering that she was accused of. Not for having had a part to play in the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. But for possessing and consuming marijuana. And all the possible angles that we just mentioned were pointed out not by the police but by the media first. There is no doubt that amidst all the reportage pertaining to the topic, the standard of the Indian media has stooped to a new low.

In a recent investigation by the media, it was found that the money laundering case slapped against Rhea Chakraborty apparently holds no ground since the missing Rs 15 crore, which she is accused to misappropriating, may never really arrived in Sushant’s account in the first place. Yet, the media kept on bombarding the charges on her until an Enforcement Directorate (ED) enquiry was set up. And yet, nothing concrete came out of it.
