The French Ambassador to India, Emmanuel Lenain, was in Kochi, Kerala, for the same, and said, “It’s a matter of great pride, we’ve been able to deliver on schedule and even ahead of schedule in spite of COVID. As you know COVID has disrupted (work) and factories had been shut for a few weeks but in spite of that, our teams have been working day and night, on weekends to cope with that and to be able to deliver on time.”

About the number of Rafale jets being sent to India, Emmanuel Lenin said, “Right now, 21 Rafale delivered to India, 11 have been ferried to India, 3 are right now being ferried and 5 extra will be ferried by end of April. Total, in 2022, the 36 (Rafale jets) will have been delivered as per contract. It’s really a great achievement.”
