After Getting Canned From His Job, Malaysian Pilot is Now a Popular Viral Chef: Watch
After being scrapped from his job due to the pandemic, Pilot Azrin Mohamad Zawawi did not lose hope and began a small food stall.
Malaysian Pilot Azrin Mohamad Zawawi has created a tremendous buzz on the internet post his pictures donning the pilot uniform and serving food went viral. Azrin Mohamad Zawawi is one amongst many others who lost their jobs after the airlines were grounded due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Post working for two decades in the airline field, Azrin has now opened up a small noodle shop which he runs along with his family just outside the capital, Kuala Lumpur. Watch his viral story here:
In the video that is doing the rounds, Azrin essays how after being slashed from Malindo Air, he needed a source of income to run his family. While facing a financial crisis, the father of four decided to do a food business, selling Malaysian dishes which includes a curry noodle dish made from a family recipe, laksa and a mixed fruit dish called rojak.
“I need some income because I was retrenched by my previous company,” Azrin says in the video. The pilot while reciting his story also explained how he asked his wife to click a picture of him in the uniform and upload it on social media with their friends. However, Azrin did not expect his story to go viral. Ever since the picture surfaced online, his small stall garnered a lot of native customers.
The people who visit his shop are not only inspired by his story but are also happy with the food which is served at his stall. A customer namely Azmna Yunus said, “The main thing is the food must be good…I’ve eaten here twice. The first time I brought my wife and now I bring my friends,”. Another customer, Syed Khadzil, also praised Azrin for finding a creative way to run a food business. “The way he does business is also something unique – being creative with his uniform. It’s a crowd-puller,” said Syed.
Azrin, in the viral video, can also be seen inspiring people to move forward in life. He hopes that everyone who is affected by the pandemic manages to find a way of living. “Embrace the challenge and never give up… It’s like flying the aircraft, we always move forward,” he said.
