After ‘Baba Ka Dhaba”, Netizens Band Together To Help Founders Of ‘Amma-Baba Burger Stall’ In Delhi
The Amma Baba burger stall in Delhi is run by an old couple who have been through a lot during the lockdown. They narrate the story of losing their children and working hard to run a family.
A few months ago, during the COVID-19 lockdown, Baba Ka Dhaba in Delhi shot to fame as the old owner’s video went viral all over the internet. Many celebrities came forward to help the elderly couple. Now, netizens have come to the rescue of another senior citizen couple, who own a burger stall in the capital, and have been selling burgers for over two decades.
Recently, a few youngsters in the city met the founders of “Shree Kala Devi Ma Burger Bhandar”, which is located right next to the Jhilmil metro station in New Delhi. The duo has been selling burgers to run their small family. The couple mentioned that they lost their five children when they were very young.
They now have 3 daughters and are stressed about their future too. The 77-year-old couple has no other option but to work hard and sell burgers in order to earn some money to feed their family. The wife said, “If our daughters were happy, we wouldn’t have to worry about them. But it is really hard to run a family with less money.” During the COVID-19 lockdown, when the entire world was busy with work from home, they had to face a lot of issues when it came to feeding their family. During such times, they have been selling burgers for Rs 15 and even today, people bargain and ask them to sell these burgers for Rs 10. The couple hardly earns a profit of Rs 5 and cannot afford to sell them at such a less amount.
The couple mentioned that they feel terrible when they have to sell the burgers at such a low cost. She adds, “My heart cries out loud for being so helpless.” Youngsters are now urging people to help this couple out in Delhi.
