Aatma Bandhana is a thriller that stars Master Alaap, Rajini, and Baby Shivaani. The story is about Arati and her kids, Chaitra and Chiru. Things turn around when the three of them meet with a road accident and Arati only saves Chaitra and not Chiru. Chiru’s soul, then, returns to vindicate his death against his mother. Throughout the show, there are various qualities of a mother-son relationship that come out through Arati and Chiru’s behaviour. Here are some of them!

It is important for sons and mothers to develop a sense of trust between each other. In Aatma Bandhana, we see that Arati saves her daughter Chaitra instead of her son. This causes him to come back furious with the fact that his mother did not save him. He also feels a sense of betrayal which causes a rift in their relationship.

There needs to be a sort of understanding between the mother and son. Chiru doesn’t seem to understand that his mother did not save his sister deliberately and would have definitely given up her life to save both her children. Arati, on the other hand, expresses her grief for not being able to save her own son.

Chaitra has always been the perfect mother to her son. She has always supported him when he was alive. When life takes a turn, Chiru’s demise creates a void in her heart. However, as time passes, he realises that it was not his mother’s fault and helps her get through difficult times.

Aatma Bandhana teaches the extent to which compromises have to be made at times. Before his death, Arati compromises her own life for both her children so that they can have a better life.

As a mother, Arati has always been a role model for her children. She is strong and smart while also being loving to her children. Chiru comes to realise what a tough woman his mother is and the two make peace with the fact of his demise.
