Lately, regional cinema has been flourishing with a wide array of contemporary content being delivered to the audience. It’s no wonder that more and more Bollywood filmmakers are eying the regional market. Many directors and producers have forayed into regional cinema by backing the regional content, including big names like Karan Johar distributing Madhuri Dixit’s Marathi debut Bucket List. Even actors like John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra have turned producers for regional-language films. Keeping up with the trend, renowned film director Aanand L Rai is gearing up to try his hand in Marathi Cinema.

Aanand L Rai is regarded as one of the most successful directors in the Bollywood industry, with gems like Raanjhanaa, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Nil Battey Sannata, Zero, and more under his name. This talented director is now venturing into regional cinema, by producing a Marathi film titled, AatmaPamphlet. It is written by Paresh Mokashi and will be directed by debutant director Ashish Avinash Bende.

The film will also be co-produced by T-Series’s Bhushan Kumar and Kishan Kumar, along with Mokashi’s company Mayasabha Karamanuk Mandali. Rai’s Colours Yellow Productions announced the film on Twitter while writing, “Lights, Camera & Action! We are excited to announce that our first Marathi venture ‘AatmaPamphlet’ has started shooting!”

In Bollywood, Anand L Rai has a list of movies lines lined up for release namely, Good Luck Jerry starring Janhvi Kapoor, Atrangi Re starring Akshay Kumar, Dhanush, and Sara Ali Khan, Raksha Bandhan starring Akshay Kumar, and Haseen Dillruba starring Taapsee Pannu, Vikrant Massey, Harshvardhan Rane.
